Current Research in MRI Editorial Board Instructions 

CHAPTER 1
Definition, Aim, Basis
Definition: 


Clause 1: This instruction article defines missions, aims, and structure of Current Research in MRI, the scientific publication of Turkish Society of Magnetic Resonance (TSMR), which needs for the journal to be scientifically qualified and for the editorial board to exist autonomously. Editorial Board works in accordance with the principles defined in regulations of TSMR.

In this article, Association indicates Turkish Society of Magnetic Resonance (TSMR), Editorial Board indicates the editorial board of journal of Current Research in MRI, Advisor indicates advisors for the journal of Current Research in MRI. 

Aim: 
Clause 2:  Preserving and boosting the current and future scientific standards of scientific publication of TSMR, Current Research in MRI, and to perform necessary work for the journal to keep its place in national and international medical indexes.

EDITORIAL BOARD:

Clause 3: Duties and Responsibilities of the Editorial Board
a. To maintain highest scientific qualifications and on-time publishing for the journal, 
b. To maintain accordance with the international standards and continuity for the works still in progress, 
c. Sending the articles to the reviewers whose academic competence is accepted by international standards, following up and finalizing the whole editorial process in accordance with the rules.
d. To pursue educational and instructive purposes for the authors of the articles in this process.

Clause 4. Structure and Commissioning Criteria for Editorial Board 
a. Section Editors are appointed by “Editor-in-chief” as needed. 
b. Tenures of the editors are determined by the editor-in-chief. If needed, editor-in-chief can renew the editorial board wholly or partially.
c. New appointments for Editorial Board are chosen from candidates whose academic merits are specified in Clause 6. 

Clause 5. Authorization, and Criteria for Appointment for Editor-in-Chief 
a. Optimizing the processes related to the journal and taking measures with Board of Directors for editorial board to fulfill their duties and responsibilities.
b. Editor-in-chief is elected by the Board of Directors of TSMR, for 6 years, with the absolute majority of voters. Editor-in-chief appoints editorial board members from candidates whose academic merits are specified in Clause 6. 
c. Editor-in-chief can renew the editorial board wholly or partially.
d. Editor-in-chief evaluates all editors and reviewers and decides their tenure based on their performance. 
e. Editor-in-chief present a yearly activity report to inform the Board of Directors and set up a meeting with the Board at least once a year.
f. Editor-in-chief has full responsibility for the failure of the journal that may occur due to the principles in Clause 8. 
             
Clause 6. Appointment Criteria for Editors
a. Having at least 20 published articles in medicine journals listed in Science Citation Index®,
b. At least 10 of these articles should be Research Articles,
c. Being the Lead Author in at least 5 of these articles, 
d. Being the Lead Author in at least 3 Research Articles among these publications, 
e. These publications should have at least 60 citations. 

Clause 7. Principles to Consider in Evaluations of the Editorial Board 
a. Total number of articles submitted to the journal per year
b. Total number of Research Articles submitted to the journal per year
c. Impact factor of the journal
d. Ratio of the articles from out-of-country authors in the journal 
e. Ratio of the Research Articles from out-of-country authors in the journal
f. Ratio of the out-of-country scientists as journal reviewers 
g. Ratio of the out-of-country scientists as journal editors
h. Average completion time of editorial processes 

Clause 8. Ethical Rules for Editorial Board to Consider 
Editorial Board must follow all the rules that international scientific journals have to follow.
